NDSS hosts a two-day conference in Washington D.C. for DS-Ambassadors. Day 1 includes advocacy training and legislative issue review. Day 2 includes meeting your State's Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill to discuss public policy issues pertinent to the Down syndrome community. 21 & Change supports this event.
Observed every 21st day of March, it is a day when people come together to raise awareness, understanding, acceptance and advocate for people born with Down syndrome across the world.
National Autism Awareness Month is a nationwide effort to promote inclusion, acceptance and self-determination for all individuals affected with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month across the United States to promote the abilities, the achievements, the truths, and the potential of individuals born with Down syndrome and break down the discriminatory barriers, practices, and beliefs that exist to this day. 21 & Change honors our active duty, national guard, reserve and retired service members in November as we approach Veterans Day. While doing so, we bring awareness to the challenges faced by those who currently serve while simultaneously raising a child or children with special needs. View it on our Facebook page.
The 2nd Annual Champions for Change Challenge is an event established to promote inclusion and ability for the differently-abled in our community.
