TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2020) — The 21 & Change Board of Directors unanimously appointed Jessica Andrews, M.A., BCBA, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at the organization’s monthly board of directors’ meeting on August 3.

President John Bodor said, “We are thrilled to see our diverse board of directors grow in size and talents. Being part of a ‘working’ board for a nonprofit can be incredibly challenging, but highly regarded for the people we fight for daily. We want to ensure all people with developmental disabilities are treated with the same respect and enjoy the same rights as everyone else.  We are honored to have Jessica join us and are very eager to have such a talented and experienced person on the team.”

With over 10 years of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with varying disabilities, Andrews is the Clinical Director for Patterns Behavioral Sciences (www.patternsbehavior.com) providing Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, and additionally the President/Owner of Take A Break Behavioral Babysitting (www.takeabreaktampa.com). She founded Take a Break Babysitting with hopes of providing families with top of the line experienced sitters and nannies who are capable and well equipped to work with ALL children, especially those with special needs.

“I am honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of 21 & Change. In addition to my professional experience in the field, I have firsthand personal experience growing up with a brother diagnosed with Down syndrome. I am passionate for serving this community and I continue to seek out opportunities to become more involved. My goal is to assist in improving the overall quality of life of these children, adults, and their families. I look forward to continuing to make a difference by joining the 21 & Change leadership team,” Andrews said.

Andrews earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of South Florida, where she also earned her Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis. She specializes in developing and implementing language acquisition, social skills and behavior reduction programs and has experience in self-care, toilet training, feeding, caregiver training, and school consultations. Andrews is passionate about ensuring each family she works with receives the best care and loves collaborating with parents to create the best outcomes for success and lasting change.

21 & Change, Inc. is dedicated to ending the Down syndrome ‘syndrome’ through advocacy, support, and niche services in the Greater Tampa Bay-St. Petersburg area and beyond. The organization is seeking additional board members, volunteers, strategic and local partners, and both corporate and individual sponsors.
